Develop interdisciplinary knowledge on design intelligence, human–AI co-creation, and responsible innovation.
Connect Intelligence is no longer only something we use. It is becoming a material we design with—and a force that is redesigning how people create, learn, decide, and live.
WDI brings together design, artificial intelligence, human creativity, and public interest. We believe the future of intelligent systems should be shaped not only by what technology can do, but by what people and societies genuinely need.
Our role is to build shared knowledge, convene diverse voices, support emerging leaders, and make responsible design intelligence a globally accessible field of inquiry and practice.
Develop interdisciplinary knowledge on design intelligence, human–AI co-creation, and responsible innovation.
Make emerging ideas accessible through public programs, learning initiatives, and early-career opportunities.
Publish reports, cases, methods, and shared resources that strengthen the field as a public good.
Connect researchers, designers, institutions, communities, and responsible industry partners across borders.
One field, deliberately interdisciplinary.
WDI’s first program architecture is intentionally focused: observe the field, convene the people shaping it, and support those who will carry it forward.
Research signals, practices, institutions, and emerging questions shaping the relationship between design and intelligent systems.
Public conversations and working sessions that bring design, technology, education, policy, and culture into one room.
A future program for emerging scholars and practitioners pursuing public-interest work in design intelligence.
WDI is being established as an independent, board-governed nonprofit corporation. Its governance is designed around public benefit, intellectual independence, transparency, and responsible stewardship.
